Private Go Lessons
Mace Li (the owner of this web site) is pleased to offer private Go lessons on the Internet or locally in London, UK.
You may have already known me from this website. Some additional information of myself:
- I am a Chinese. But I speak and write English fluently after staying in the US for more than 5 years. I am currently living in London.
- My current strength is 6 dan of American Go Association. I have accounts on almost every Go servers.
- I am quite good at game reviewing because I have read thousands of professional games while maintaining the game collection section of this website. I am extremely familiar with all kinds of modern openings and josekis.
- I am a very patient person. :-)
What my previous student say about my teaching skills:
He is the best! Beyond helping you find the "best moves", he's very conscientious and thorough in showing you all the possible follow-ups and consequences of any given cut or invasion. He teaches you the thought process so you have the confidence to make plans and verify your intuition, and he helps you appreciate the flexibility of the game. Taking lessons from him for one semester, my rating improved 5 stones! (By George Schmitt of University of Maryland Go Club)
Pricing:
- $12 for a 1-hour Internet lesson, including playing either even or handicap game and game reviewing. Spend your time the way you like by requesting me to present special topics.
- $6 for a detailed game commentary by email. My student Andre kindly allows me to use one of his game as a sample.
- Discount for bulk orders available.
- Other currencies are acceptable. Payment through Paypal or through other arrangements.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of basic rules of Go. Any level. Students with 10k or better levels will surely benefit from my teaching very rapidly.
- It is certainly a plus if you love this game with passion.
