greetz

after a hard drive crashed i lost my copy of the gtp game engine MOGO

ouch! sorely missed!

sensei's library gives a link that doesn't work, which,

if you click on enough links you get to a download--of sorts

"only available to download in binary" and the filename is mogor (with no file extension)

am i supposed to compile this? just renaming to mogo.exe surely doesn't work...

anybody have this file and willing to share? specifically, mogo.exe. it was a free d/l, i'm not asking anything illegal or unethical...

thanks!

Hey matteocam,

I'm not too familiar with how GnuGo does its scoring, but it's possible that you have to manually mark stones that you consider dead. In this case, you have to mark the Black stones on the left dead before GnuGo is going to count the left as White's territory.

GnuGo may also automatically mark dead stones, but it may not realize that the Black stones are supposed to be dead*. In that case again, there's usually an option to mark dead stones manually.

*if Black moves first on the left, it's a bit complicated to say whether or not Black is actually dead, but that's something you should explore.

Hi everybody,
the below image shows the territory counting performed by the GnuGo software.
I don't think I got the procedures for assigning territories perfectly, so my question is:
Why does the left area belong to neither Black nor White? Shouldn't that area be White's? (since after all he has a chain from the top to bottom of the board surrounding it)

Cheers
Matteo

Dear friends, the 8th FICGS correspondence Go world championship will start on January 1st, 2012. The waiting list is now open and it's free! The use of databases and engines is not only recommended but encouraged in this tournament (see the rules below the waiting list).

We still don't know who will be the next FICGS Go champion but one thing is sure, it will be a tough challenge...

Have good games!

Thanks for your interest in GoRilla. GoRilla is freeware and has always been freeware, and will probably always remain freeware, so you can just download it from the product web page.

You may be interested to know that a new release of the program will be available shortly. Expect it soon.

today eliminated from Samsung in the first stage. Tough draw though - lost to Li Zhe in first round, then to Chen Yaoye in the second chance draw
