As of February 2013
Lee Sedol is top again with a comfortable margin.
do you have a list of Japan or china's top 20 players?
As of March 2013
Lee Sedol is still having a comfortable lead. Park Yeonghun has made big progress.
I would like to ask weather something similar exists for players from America and Europe?
Is there a place to find such a comparison of all world's players?
I was wondering if there was a place to find out world rankings, I have tried looking but cant seem to find any recent ones.
The Korean has been releasing quarterly world ranking lists since 2010. Some old information about this ranking system is available at:
Some Chinese sources have the most recent list:
I will translate it when I have time. The basic message here is that the top seats are shared by the Korean and the Chinese. Japan unfortunately becomes quite irrelevant in world stage.
It's kind of embarrassing for Japan. If their pros didn't have domestic tournaments to compete in, a lot of their pros, such as Iyama Yuta or Yamashita Keigo, wouldn't have a title to their name! Hope this changes soon.
