There are no passes in shogi, chess or xiangqi-janggi. I would argue that the main flaw in territory-based rulesets is the inclusion of passes, which cause the majority of ruleset disputes in territory scoring. This is hidden in area rules, because of course passes don't have any negative effect in area rules, and so because the main differences in rulesets traditionally were not in passes but in whether stones were included in the score, the latter is what has been focused on.

Same-country pairings should have half the weighting in goratings (and all go rating systems) . . .

Hey everyone! I've been posting this on a few Go forums. Checking in here as well.
I am an independent developer, and noticed several months back there was no Go client on Steam so got to work. Since the Google AI announcement, I have been rushing to try and be ready to catch some of the people who discover Go exists due to the media hype around it.
I just launched a Greenlight which contains some video and screenshots. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=631409809

Hey,
I recently developed and published an Android Game, called ColorChange. I didn't think of it as related to Go in any way in the first place. But someone said it made him think of it while playing. While it is not any representation of Go in a digital form, it has a similar feeling to it.

Announcing the release of two new servers in London, England and Dallas, Texas -- http://www.funnode.com/games/go
Although FunNode is still in beta, the website has been online for almost 2 years now. We have accepted a lot of feedback over this time to improve the user experience and the site as a whole. We are at a point where the servers are stable and taking on substantial loads.
Here are a few things Go on FunNode has to offer:

Does anyone have (or know of) a comprehensive list of Go books in the English language?
I have grabbed lists from the obvious websites and will continue to add as I find others. But perhaps someone has already done this work?
If not, I will publish mine when it is completed.
Thank You!

Hello macelee,
Once again I am considering subscribing to your Game Delivery Service. However, I am also thinking about buying John Fairbairn's GoGoD SGF collection, which is now available only for download for $15.00. This is very competitive in price to your service at €9.99 per year. My question for you is, do you have any idea how much overlap there is between the two collections? I am guessing that there is not too much but I would like more information on that before I buy.
